In a chinese set of Mahjong tiles there are 144 tiles, i will go throungh these
This is the stick (bamboo) suit, of the nine numbered tiles in the set only number one is a bird (sparrow or eagle). (1-9) There are four of each of these tiles.
This is the circle (armor, shield) suit, these are also numbered 1 - 9. (1-9) There are four of each of these tiles.
This is the charector suit, these are numbers 1 - 9 in chinese symbols. (1-9) There are four of each of these tiles.
This is the wind suit, they represent the directions, east, south, west and north, and ussually come in this order. (West/South/East/North) There are four of each of these tiles.
This is the dragon set, the symbols represent a red dragon, a green dragon and the border on a blank tile is the white dragon. (Red/Green/White) There are four of each of these tiles.
This is the flowers set, a plum, an orchid, a chrysanthemum and bamboo. (Plum/Orchid/Chrysanthemum/Bamboo) There are two of each of these tiles.
Finnaly, this is the seasons set, representing winter, spring, summer and autumn, these are not in a regular set of chinese Mahjong tiles but many other contries use them. (Autumn/Winter/Spring/Summer) There are one or two of each of these tiles depending opn the contry.
